Here is another easy dc coaster / potholder (Heptagon)

Yarn: 2 contrasting colors
         My color choice inspiration came from my dress that I am wearing today.

Hook: Size U.S. E/4- 3.5 mm crochet hook

Ch = Chain
Rnd = Round
dc = double crochet
sc = single crochet
Sl st = Slip stitch

Pattern:
With main color, Chain 4, join to form a ring.

Rnd1:  ch 3 (count as 1 dc), 13 dc into the ring,Join with sl st to 3rd chain of ch3 (14dc).

Rnd2:  ch 3 (count as 1 dc) 1 dc in the same spot, 2 dc in next dc and each dc till end, Join  with sl st to 3rd chain of ch3 (28dc). 

Rnd3:  ch 3 (count as 1 dc) 1 dc in the same spot,[1dc in the next 2dc,2dc in the next dc],
       [2dc in the next dc,1dc in the next 2dc,2dc in the next dc] till end(6x),Join with sl st to 3rd chain of ch3 (42dc). 

Rnd4:  ch 3 (count as 1 dc) 1 dc in the same spot,[1dc in the next 4dc,2dc in the next dc],
       [2dc in the next dc,1dc in the next 4dc,2dc in the next dc] till end(6x),Join with sl st to 3rd chain of ch3 (56dc).

Rnd5:  ch 3 (count as 1 dc) 1 dc in the same spot,[1dc in the next 6dc,2dc in the next dc],
       [2dc in the next dc,1dc in the next 6dc,2dc in the next dc] till end(6x),Join with sl st to 3rd chain of ch3 (70dc).

Rnd6:  ch 3 (count as 1 dc) 1 dc in the same spot,[1dc in the next 8dc,2dc in the next dc],
       [2dc in the next dc,1dc in the next 8dc,2dc in the next dc] till end(6x),Join with sl st to 3rd chain of ch3 (84dc).

Rnd7:  ch 3 (count as 1 dc) 1 dc in the same spot,[1dc in the next 10dc,2dc in the next dc],
       [2dc in the next dc,1dc in the next 10dc,2dc in the next dc] till end(6x),Join with sl st to 3rd chain of ch3 (98dc).

Rnd8:  ch 3 (count as 1 dc) 1 dc in the same spot, [1dc in the next 12dc, 2dc in the next dc],
       [2dc in the next dc,1dc in the next 12dc,2dc in the next dc] till end(6x), Join with sl st to 3rd chain of ch3 (112dc).

Rnd9:  Join the different color ch1, 2 sc in the same spot, [1sc in the next 14dc, 2sc in the next dc], [2sc in the next dc,1sc in the next 14dc, 2sc in the next dc] till end(6x), Join (126sc).

I get to meet all of you with my new creation.

Whipped some more potholders over the weekend ...

... and here is the pattern.


Yarn:  Lily Sugar 'n Cream (1 ball makes 2)
Hook: Size U.S. H/8-5 mm crochet hook 


Ch = Chain
Rnd = Round
Sc = Single crochet
Sl st = Slip stitch




join = Join with sl st to first sc


Pattern:

Chain 3, join to form a ring.
Rnd1:  6 sc into the ring,join (6sc).
Rnd2:  ch1,2sc in the next sc and each sc till end,Join with sl st to first sc (12sc).
Rnd3:  ch1,[2sc in the next sc,1sc in the next sc] till end(6x),join (18sc).
Rnd4:  ch1,[2sc in the next sc,1sc in each of the next 2sc] till end(6x),join (24sc).
Rnd5:  ch1,[2sc in the next sc,1sc in each of the next 3sc] till end(6x),join (30sc).
Rnd6:  ch1,[2sc in the next sc,1sc in each of the next 4sc] till end(6x),join (36sc).
Rnd7:  ch1,[2sc in the next sc,1sc in each of the next 5sc] till end(6x),join (42sc).

Ha ….. What contradiction; here I am on one hand having Ice Tea & Oatmeal cookies to beat this hot n humid Lucknow (India) weather and on the other hand I am playing with yarn and crocheting away…

But then who said crochet had a season …. It is to be done whenever the heart desires.

Yarn:     White(main color), Green (for border)

Hook:    E/4 – 3.5 mm

Pattern:

chain 4, join into ring (or make magic ring).

Rnd 1:  ch 3 (1st dc in each rnd), 11 dc, sl into ch-3 dc for join (12 dc).

Rnd 2:  ch 3, 1 dc in the same spot, [2 dc in next dc] 11x, join (24 dc).

Rnd 3:  ch 3, [2 dc in  next, dc in next dc] 11x, 2 dc in next dc, join (36 dc).

Rnd 4:  ch 3, [2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc] 11x,  2 dc in next dc, dc, join (48 dc).

Rnd 5:  ch 3, dc in next 2 dc  [2 dc in next dc, dc in next 3 dc] 11x, 2 dc, join (60 dc).

Masala Lemonade

A cool beverage to greet with all the guests visiting my blog,
Happy reading/visiting thecrochetbag.

Just had masala lemonade at Pizza Hut the other day,
and thought of giving it a try ...here it is and tastes the same.


Ingredients (makes 2 glasses)

2 teaspoon Lemon Juice
2 teaspoon Jal Jeera Powder
6/8 Mint Leaves
Lemon Slices
2 Glasses Sprite/ Carbonated Water


How to Make

Mix all the above ingredients and serve chilled.

Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye

Meri mummy kehti hai koi bhi shubh kaam karne se pehle kuch meetha khana chahiye, Kaam acha hota hai
